Ciência do Exercício Aquático

Aquatic Exercise Science

In February 2025, four reviews were found (knee osteoarthritis and cerebral palsy, which are systematic, and a history of hydrotherapy and the effects of aquatic exercises on Parkinson’s disease, which are narrative), as well as four RCTs that addressed: knee osteoarthritis, ankle sprains in athletes, aquatic exercises for amputees, as well as plyometric training for volleyball players. The penultimate study is quite interesting, as the athletes were randomized into four plyometric training groups, one of which was water training. The results recommend that both water and sand (yes, sand, not land!) exercises be used in the training of male volleyball players, in order to maximize performance gains, especially in jumping. Check out the list below.:

RS = Revisão Sistemática; RN = Revisão Narrativa e ECA = Ensaio Clínico Aleatório.
